The Balance Disorder Institute
is a division of the Ear Medical Center of
Cincinnati. Created in 1993, the Balance Disorder Institute
was designed to diagnose, treat, and manage the unique needs
of persons with dizziness and balance disorders. It is the
result of more than 25 years of experience and is staffed by
a group of professionals with extensive clinical experience
in the area of dizziness and imbalance.
At the Balance Disorder Institute, our team of
professionals work with each individual and family to
develop an Individualized Treatment Program. This
Individualized Treatment Program is designed to meet the
patient's needs in diagnosis, treatment, management, support
and education of the dizziness or balance disorder. Led by
Dr. Claude Hobeika, director and founder of
the Balance Disorder Institute, our team works with the
patient and patient's family to treat not only the disorder,
but also manage the effects of the dizziness and imbalance
in everyday life and functional abilities.
Through The
Headache Center at BDI, specialized treatment is also
available for headaches, including migraine diagnosis and
treatment, and pain management. Unlike others that merely
treat the symptoms of headaches, The Headache Center program
is aimed at correcting the root causes of the headaches
themselves, resulting in real, lasting relief for the
patient.
Many balance disorders are related to inner ear problems
that may have resulted in hearing loss. Through their Accutone subsidiary BDI also offers hearing
loss diagnosis, as well as sales and service of all types of
hearing aids--linear, programmable, and digital. The
Accutone philosophy is aimed at getting the patient the aid
that most closely meets their listening needs.
