What can we do to help?
The bend in the road,
is not the end of the road... ...unless you forget to
turn
The Fall Center is the results of more than 25 years of
experience in the management of dizziness, unsteadiness and
imbalance.
For those of you who have experienced a fall you know the
extraordinary sense of fear that can accompany the thought
of doing even the simplest everyday activities. For those of
you who haven't ... the mere thought of falling can limit
your freedom to enjoy life to the fullest.
The Fall Center is dedicated to those who have fallen or
are at risk of falling!
Facts about Falls
To balance is to be able to stand up and do things.
Balance is therefore essential for survival.
- Falls are the most common cause of death in the U.S.
population over 65 years of age.
- More than 2 million people fall and sustain a serious
injury each year in the United States.
- 65% of those 60 years and older experience imbalance
on a daily basis.
- 5% of falls lead to fracture and account for more than
200,000 hip fractures annually.
Because we realize the impact of falls not only on the
individual but also on their families the Fall Center was
created for the prevention, early detection and care of
those at risk for falls.
